Specially made aluminium holders are filled with a sealant and hung while wet in ovens and fridges at 70°, 50° and 5° ±2°C. After the hot or cold exposure the droop is measured and the amount the sealant resists flowing is calculated. This resistance to flow helps show how well a sealant performs when applied to vertical surfaces so the end user will know how much, if at all, the sealant will droop.
