Standard: ASTM D1000 Coating Thickness

Measuring the thickness of Pressure Sensitive Adhesive Coated Tapes Used for Electrical and Electronic Applications is one of the tests detailed in the ASTM D1000. The thickness of the tape is precisely measured at several points to make sure it is uniform, this in turn helps insure the other properties of the tape remain uniform. If the tape has varying thickness, it's insulation and strength will vary too.
