The IP Code, International Protection Marking, IEC standard 60529, classifies and rates the degree of protection provided against intrusion. The equivalent European standard is EN 60529:1992+A2:2013 which we commonly use, among other specifications; this contains the criteria to assess equipment to its appropriate IP code.
