Standard: BS ISO 188 Resistance to Ageing

Rubber, vulcanised or thermoplastic. Accelerated ageing & heat resistance tests.

Samples are subjected to a high temperature for a length of time, the temperatures and times vary depending on the end use of the rubber. The samples are tested (typically tensile properties and hardness) before and after the ageing or exposure and the results are compared to find out if or how much deterioration occurred.
