Standard: BS EN ISO 4624 Paints and varnishes – Pull-off test for adhesion

This is an international standard for determining the adhesion of paint, varnish, and related coatings to various substrates by a pull-off test. ISO 4624 specifies three methods: Method A uses two dollies for rigid and deformable substrates; Method B tests from one side using a single dolly for rigid substrates; and Method C uses dollies where the coating is applied directly to the dolly. These tests are an important aspect of Environmental Testing UK, ensuring coatings perform reliably under varying environmental conditions.

It’s a comprehensive international standard that provides options for different substrate types and test setups, broadly equivalent in principle to ASTM standards but with specific procedural differences.
